Elections 2016, we belong to the King

GOD BLESS YOU

We have a new President elect. I am relieved that the anti-life and anti-family agenda seems to have be defeated, but I am also concerned about some statements made by the president-elect regarding women and immigrants.

There are serious problems with the immigration system that need to be addressed but in the process of fixing it we should not forget that most immigrants are like our ancestors who came to scape terrible situations, hoping for a better life. They helped make America great. If we truly want to "Make America Great Again", we need to protect our heritage as a haven of freedom and opportunity for all. We will never understand what immigrants are suffering and their fears unless we listen to them, love them as brothers and sisters and put ourselves in their shoes. Most importantly, we must remember that what we do to them we do to Jesus. Let us pray for a just and merciful treatment of immigrants.

Let us reject the temptation to become absorbed in politics and to become emotionally attached to one party or ideology or figure to a point that we loose objectivity and are blinded. Christians need to remember that we have a KING, Jesus Christ who is alive and who is the Way, the Truth and the Light. We need to be free to discern all in Him, even if we must detach from what most attracts us most.

For a time it appears to the world that the King is insignificant. Only if we are attentive to Him and willing to be molded and guided by Him will we begin to understand who He really is and can discern all things in Him. The King is not only above all presidents and leaders, He is GOD, eternal, all knowing and all powerful. All will pass and all will be judged by HIM.

The KING was born under the rule of a despot who tried to kill Him, and died under another who crucified Him. He saw His people suffer, His mother suffer, John, His caused was beheaded. It appeared as if evil was winning, but He resurrected. We must be careful not to be tempted like Judas to despair, not to fall for a political current as he did. The way of Christ is the Gospel which is revealed to the poor, to the little ones.

I am deeply impressed with those who WORKED SO HARD AND PRAYED SO MUCH for the protection of the unborn, family, marriage and religious liberty. Those who persevere, putting their faith and trust in Christ are the Lord's hidden force! Now we must continue to pray for the new President, that he may open his heart to the Lord and be a humble servant to all.

We need to be aware that information is manipulated and twisted. It is hard to get to the facts. We need to be careful with our own reactions based on our wounds. There are many wounded people who get emotionally attached to those who, instead of helping them heal, make them believe that they have no wounds at all.   We need to pray for the multitudes who are seduced by pretty words. Even the Word of God, can be used to seduce and confuse. We have seen that an avid promoter of partial birth abortion, of the re-definition of marriage and of the indoctrination of children on gender theories can speak as a champion for women, children and minorities; We have seen one who said that “religious beliefs… have to be changed,” speak as if a defender of religious liberty. Immorality is so ugly that-whether it is abortion or racism-it must covers itself with a pretense of good in order to attract.

This is why it is paramount that we form our conscience based on God’s revelation as given to us in the Catholic Church. We need to know it, to examine our hearts in light of it and be able to articulate it.

We need to stay focused in Christ the Eternal KING, from Him we know what is right and wrong and have the power to live it. We respect and obey the President and take part in the political process, but always guided by a well formed conscience under the King.

1 Peter 2:13
Be subject for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to praise those who do right. For it is God’s will that by doing right you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish men. Live as free men, yet without using your freedom as a pretext for evil; but live as servants of God. Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.
