Rosa Mistica's Hour of Grace
Mary invites us to an "hour of grace" on December 8
Rosa Mistica is an ancient title for Mary found in the Litany of Loreto. With this title the Mother of God visited Pierina, a humble woman at Montichiari, Italy.
Our Mother appeared with three roses on her breast:
The white rose: Spirit of prayer.
The red rose: Spirit of atonement and sacrifice.
The golden/yellow rose: Spirit of penance.
On December 8, 1947, feast of the Immaculate Conception, was the fourth and last apparition in the Cathedral of Montichiari, before a great crowd. Our Lady appeared smiling and said: “I am the Immaculate Conception! I am Mary of Grace, that is, the full of grace, Mother of my divine Son Jesus Christ. ...In Montichiari I wish to be invoked and venerated as “Rosa Mistica.
Hour of grace: December 8, 12 PM
“I wish that every year, on December 8 at noon, the hour of grace be celebrated throughout the world; through this devotion numerous graces for the soul and for the body will be attained. Our Lord, my divine Son Jesus, will send His overflowing mercy if the good will pray for their sinful brethren.”
Pierina asked her how she was to prepare herself for this Hour of Grace, to which the Blessed Virgin replied: “With prayer and penance.”
At the hour of grace:
Pray Psalm 51 three times, with outstretched arms. During the Hour of Grace, many spiritual graces will be granted. Sinners with the most hardened hearts will be touched by the grace of God.
The rest of the hour can be spent in silent communication with God, meditating on the Passion of Jesus, praying the Rosary, praising God. For us in Love Crucified it is an opportunity to meditate the messages given to us.
During this hour, at home or in church, avoid all distractions (concentrate totally on your union with God).
The Blessed Virgin promised to grant whatever was asked of her during the Hour of Grace, (even in impossible cases), if the request was in accordance with the will of the Eternal Father.
We are to share in the Blessed Virgin’s mission: that all souls may come to God and be saved.
Psalm 51
Prayer for Cleansing and Pardon
1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I know my transgressions and my sin is ever before me.
4 Against you, you alone, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight so that you are justified in your sentence and blameless when you pass judgment.5 Indeed, I was born guilty, a sinner when my mother conceived me.
6 You desire truth in the inward being; therefore teach me wisdom in my secret heart.7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.8 Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have crushed rejoice.9 Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right[b] spirit within me.11 Do not cast me away from your presence, and do not take your holy spirit from me.12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and sustain in me a willing[c] spirit.
13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you.14 Deliver me from bloodshed, O God, O God of my salvation, and my tongue will sing aloud of your deliverance.
15 O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.16 For you have no delight in sacrifice; if I were to give a burnt offering, you would not be pleased.17 The sacrifice acceptable to God[d] is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
18 Do good to Zion in your good pleasure; rebuild the walls of Jerusalem,19 then you will delight in right sacrifices, in burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings; then bulls will be offered on your altar.
Rosa Mistica's connection to Fatima:
Our Lady makes a close link between both apparitions and her message.
1. She reveals Her Immaculate Heart, as she did at Fatima and as Jesus did to St. Margaret.
“Look at this Heart which loves mankind so much and yet receives nothing but offenses from the majority of My children. If the good and the bad unite in prayer, they will obtain peace and mercy through this Heart. The Lord continues to protect the good and is withholding a great chastisement through My intercession. The greatness of this Hour of Grace will soon be recognized. I have prepared an overabundance of grace for all those children who listen to My voice and heed My wishes.”
2. She speaks explicitly of Fatima and devotion to her Immaculate Heart.
3. She appears with Saints Jacinta and Francisco, the visionaries of Fatima, and proposes them to Pierina as models and examples of sacrifice.
4. She asks that reparation be made (central message of Fatima).
Our Lady asked for penance:
“Penance is to accept all our daily crosses voluntarily.
No matter how small they are, accept them with love”.
